Hashoo Foundation’s Human Development Resource Center Rawalpindi conducted a seminar on Professional Growth and Development of Primary School Teachers on June 27 at 9:00 a.m. at the Pearl Continental hotel in Rawalpindi.
Dr. Imam Yar Baig CEO Hashoo Foundation welcomed the guests to the seminar. He highlighted the efforts Hashoo Foundation in social and economic development through different programs. To build capacity of Primary Schools teachers he emphasized on Public private partnership. And in this regard expressed his desire to built linkages with Government.
Mr. Ahsan Iqbal Member National Assembly and Secretary Information PML’N was Chief Guest whereas Dr. Aziz Ali Najam Provost and Associate Dean Students Development and University Affairs, Shifa Medical College, Islamabad led the discussion with his speech on “What is professional growth and development? How a primary teacher can grow and develop exploring contemporary knowledge and skills in the realm of education” followed by question and answer session.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ahsan Iqbal applauded the efforts of Hashoo Foundation, Human Development Resource Center Rawalpindi. He said that it was the need of the time to train teachers in way that they can prepare new generations to cope with the challenges that Pakistan is facing today.
Similarly, Dr. Aziz Ali Najam shared his scholarly ideas about what professional growth and development is and how it is vital for teachers.
More than 150 teachers from different schools of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and other cities participated in the event. Officials from other organizations and representatives from different government bodies showed great interest in event and keenly participated in activities of seminar. The seminar aimed to sensitize teachers about the concept of self evaluation and its importance. Similarly, the purpose was also to help teachers setting their yearly targets for professional growth and development. Through group work and TNA needs of teachers were identified as what they require to do to bring changes in their current approaches and the knowledge and skills they need to be equipped with.
